Welcome to EcoCommute SA. By using our website and mobile application, you agree to these terms of service. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

What EcoCommute SA Is

EcoCommute SA is a free, community-driven platform that connects South Australian commuters for ride-sharing on major corridors. We are not a taxi, rideshare company, or transport provider. We simply help people who are already driving the same route find each other. There is no employer-employee or contractor relationship between EcoCommute SA and any user.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use EcoCommute SA. Drivers must hold a valid Australian driver's licence and appropriate vehicle insurance. By offering rides, you confirm that your vehicle is registered, roadworthy, and insured for the journeys you offer.

Your Account

You sign in using your Google account. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for all activity under your account. Your profile information (name, photo, car details) must be accurate and up to date. Impersonation or providing false information may result in account removal.

User Conduct

By using EcoCommute SA, you agree to:

• Treat all users with respect and courtesy.
• Communicate honestly about routes, times, and costs.
• Not engage in harassment, discrimination, or threatening behaviour.
• Not use the platform for commercial transport services.
• Follow all applicable road rules and traffic laws.

Cost Sharing

Any payments between riders and drivers are voluntary, peer-to-peer cost contributions towards fuel and vehicle expenses. EcoCommute SA does not process payments, take commissions, or guarantee any financial arrangement between users. Cost amounts shown on the platform are estimates only.

Ratings and Reviews

After each completed trip, both drivers and riders can leave ratings and reviews. These must be honest and fair. We reserve the right to remove reviews that contain harassment, profanity, or false claims.

Limitation of Liability

EcoCommute SA provides a platform for connecting commuters. We do not vet drivers, verify licences, inspect vehicles, or supervise trips. You use the platform and participate in rides at your own risk. To the maximum extent permitted by law, EcoCommute SA is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from your use of the platform or participation in any ride.

Account Termination

You may stop using EcoCommute SA at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or our community guidelines. If you wish to have your data deleted, contact us at the email below or see our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
